I commend the viiosn here Ray. TSA has traded significantly off public appreciation for our response to people in crisis and disaster (wartime, recession, depression, drought, flood, fire, personal tragedy, etc.) All this is fantastic, but can we also pursue our four mission priorities through social action and community building endeavours that enhance social, spiritual and personal capital in the lives of Australians when not necessarily in crisis?I would hope that a comprehensive review will include the following:1.Community based needs analysis of gaps and overlaps in welfare servicing to strategically determine if TSA withdraws from any overcrowded service delivery spheres and embraces some of the less trendy/more challenging social inclusion issues. I acknowledge that government funding agendas do determine the parameters here.2.Further commitment to the Connecting Forward rhetoric to empower our corps and worshipping communities to develop a meaningful mission strategy which targets local community needs in partnership with other coalitions of church and community groups. Lets empower more of our volunteer soldiers/adherents/members to get out there like salt to flavour community life'.3.Continued exploration of intentional partnerships with schools and other education/training providers who increasingly represent and constitute the predominant social experience for our youth. Schools are increasingly the only ‘village’ experience that ‘raises the child!’ How can TSA contribute meaningfully into the future generation in this context?Keep up this direction! I hope we can gather momentum behing this sort of viiosn.
